Let's talk about a question many across Northeast Wisconsin are anxious to have answered -- Who is going to take on Tony Wied in 2026?

The exciting news is the Democratic Party has a number of people seriously interested in running for this seat in 2026. Tony Wied, with his ineffectiveness, has compelled people to consider entering this arena to bring real representation to Wisconsin's 8th District -- someone that will fight for what really matters to our families, our children, our communities, and our pocketbooks -- rather than fight Canada over which way the wildfire winds blow.

In 2026, we will have a Democratic candidate running to represent Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District — and we intend to win.

The 2026 election is still 15 months away. Anouncements are on the horizon.

In the meantine, we ask for your patience and understanding. This is a big decision for both the candidates considering to run, and the district to ensure we have competitive candidates in the race. There is strategy, planning, campaign infrastructure, and a whole host of critical pieces that have to be put in place to run an organized, effective campaign.

We will share announcements as soon as they are ready to be shared!

Right now, we expect a primary in this race, which means our nominee won’t be confirmed until August 2026. That’s a long time to wait — and too long to stay quiet.

So what to do in the meantime?

1. ​Find local events, rallies, community meetings to attend and mobilize around issues that matter to you.
2. Sign up to volunteer with your County Party​
3. ​Call or Email Tony Wied to share the issues that matter to you.
4. ​Donate to help us build our war chest to support our 8th District Candidates.

Our Congressman’s Missing — But We’re Not

While our congressman continues to hide from accountability, we won’t. We’ll be organizing, holding community meetings, registering voters, knocking doors, and reminding every voter in Northeast Wisconsin exactly who they’ve been (or haven’t been) represented by.

But all of this takes resources — and it starts now.
